What is a default?

Understanding a default will allow you to understand which sentences will stimulate an neuro emotional response of recognition and one that won't. Defaults are an amazing neurological process. Much like a set of system switches. If the switch is set correctly current flows to a particular area of the brain called the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus is responsible for the releasing neural peptides into the blood stream. Neural peptides are our emotions and it is through these emotions that actions and decisions are made. If you as a communicator know in advance how a switch is set for an individual you can trigger the neural process and the flow of emotion. It is through this emotional recognition that we make decisions and take action.

Anyone who has a good knowledge of the the defaults of another and can utilise them will be well on the way to becoming a master communicator, master salesmen, motivational speaker, superb teacher and a great parent. The foundation of defaults is that once a person has developed a particular process for handling situations and information this process will be replicated in virtually all other setting.

So if you as communicator know that a client processes information in a particular way every time you will easily be able to predict future decisions. Imagine if you will a set of door that all appear to be the same however there is only one door that leads to emotion. Most people will pick the door that is connected to there emotions, hoping that all people are the same as them. As most of us have discover all people think differently. Understanding defaults is a great start to understanding the amazing world of communication. With this understanding the door to happiness and success is just that little bit closer and much more accessible.

How do we recognise a default. The solution to this is in the asking? There are specific questions that can be asked to trigger a default response. These will be outlined in the following text. It is to be remembered that it is no so much the question that is asked but a focus on how the person respond. The profiler asks a question the client answers, the answer they give will be the default.

This type of profiling is incredible respectful as it allows the client to show you the way that they they think and would like to communicate with you. All you have to do is pay attentions and take note of the response.
