Magic Techniques is one of the most fascinating areas of the application of NLP. NLP and psychotherapy just seem to be made for each other. The external world is constantly measured by the nervous system. The nervous system measures everything through time, space and matter. Let's start from the preface that all behavioural issues are issues of perception.

Perception is how we relate to the world. As an individual changes their inner world of perception, it in turn has an effect on the outer world. Perception is the process by which the inner world of cellular physiology relates to the outer world. Thus the promise of Clinical NLP is the ability to help with medical issues though changes in perception.

If this preface is true, then therapy is a very straight forward process. The primary layer is information storage and retrieval. The secondary layer is information processing. These layers operate together to produce behaviour. If we deal only with the second layer, the effects are localised to a particular behaviour. If the primary layer is affected or changed then a larger more cross-contextual change is bound to occur.

The primary layer is made up of 2 processes. These 2 main processes are Temporal Storage and Atemporal Association. The process of temporal storage is the organisation of events, emotions and decision in a linear format. This gives us the ability to order events and make distinctions between yesterday, tomorrow and 10 years ago. - ( Time Lines & Time Based Therapy). The process of atemporal association groups identity parts, people parts, objects and locations. - ( Neuro Relationship Therapy )
